"People are being taxed to death, its getting to the point where future generations will literally have nothing left" -Mark Ellmore

Boosting the Economy and Lowering Taxes

-Mark Ellmore has signed the Americans for Tax Reform pledge to fight for no new taxes
-Mark Ellmore is the limited government candidate who will fight for the principles of Ronald Reagan, including lowering taxes

As a father, Mark Ellmore understands that Congress burdens families and all Americans by increasing taxes. Mark pledges to cut spending and vote not to authorize new taxes once elected. This past year Congress has voted to increase your taxes by over $392 billion. He also pledges to cut frivolous programs out of the budget that have been recommended for removal by the Office of Management and Budget. By cutting the budget only 0.0025%, Americans would be saved almost $400 million.

Mark opposes reckless earmarks. He pledges to listen to the constituents at home. Jim Moran has voted to increase federal spending by over $2.73 trillion since January 2007.

Health Care and Protecting Seniors

-Limit frivolous lawsuits that increase insurance costs
-Keep health care a private industry and not a government business

Mark believes in providing a good working environment for doctors in order to promote a better health care. He will firmly stand against socializing health care. Ellmore also wants to limit medical lawsuit damages to help protect doctors from frivolous cases.

In 2007, Mark Ellmore founded "Save Larry" which was a charity organized to help protect Larry Haubner, a 105 year old Virginia resident. Larry had outlived his savings and was facing eviction from his assisted living home into a government funded nursing home. Mark raised over 60,000 in just under two weeks in order to help preserve Larry's quality of life. He remains in his assisted living facility today.

"My mother lives in an assisted living home in Virginia. I understand the importance of taking care of our seniors and their health" -Mark Ellmore

Finishing the Job in Iraq

As the father of a son in the Air Force, issues pertaining to the U.S. Military are a high priority. Just like Mark, there are hundreds of families across the 8th Congressional District with sons and daughters in the military.

Mark wants to bring the troops home from Iraq as soon as possible. He believes that the surge is working and that we should gradually reduce our levels of troops in Iraq.

Mark Ellmore also believes that Jim Moran is not doing enough to protect our troops from harm. Mark will never vote to deny troops the necessary tools they need to fight to protect us.
Mark Ellmore's son Richard is active duty in the Air Force. Mark's nephew just recently returned from service in Iraq. His nephew will be returning to Iraq soon.

Immigration and Border Control

-Secure the border today by building a fence and adding more US Border Patrol Agents
-No Amnesty and impose harsher penalties on businesses that violate rules

Mark Ellmore says the first step to solving illegal immigration is to secure the borders. He supports using technology and more personnel along the borders to enforce the law.
Mark does not support an amnesty program and he supports everyone that adheres to the legal entry process. He will fight to impose harsher penalties on companies that employee illegal immigrants.

"Illegal immigration is a real problem that requires practical solutions that must be implemented in a compassionate way" -Mark Ellmore

Protect the Environment
with smarter business and innovative technologies
Since 2007, Mark Ellmore's volunteers have cleaned up over 9,000 lbs of trash from the streets. "Its about action rather than just talk," said Mark Ellmore.

Mark Ellmore knows that protecting the environment is important to the residents of Virginia's 8th District. Mark has been meeting with different business leaders across Northern Virginia to promote more environmentally friendly business practices without causing a strain on small businesses.
